KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - DonnWeinberg performs Day In Day Out on Karaoke Showcase - "Day In, Day Out" was written by Rube Bloom (music) and Johnny Mercer (lyrics) and was first performed by Helen Ward in 1939. Frank Sinatra recorded it four times -- 1953 (Axel Stordahl, arr.); 1954 (Nelson Riddle, arr.); 1958 (Billy May, arr.); and 1962 (live in Paris). I am singing over the 1958 original recording with vocal reduction and a 2-step key reduction. This is a very swinging song with a driving rhythym. -- Donn

SlcJohnD You can hear the "echo" of the removal, but your impecable timing completely maskes any residue of origonal vocal.. You also have an awesome voice. I also have to agree regarding the backing track... For this genre, there's nothing like the big band sound.. Fantastic.
Reply: Thanks, John. This track was one of those that Vogone does a "good" job reducing. I find the best removals in the Sinatra recordings from 1962-70. -- Donn
