KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - OoRIKoO performs Mr Blue Sky on Karaoke Showcase - This recording brought me more fun than any other (and there have been many)I have ever done. From calling up old friends trying to find a vocoder. (which I unbelievably did find), to spending hours on the vocal tracks trying to stay true to the original ( I do all vocals except the obvious at 2:21 (thx Dar), I even used a drum stick and fire extinguisher on the clang, clang, clangs in true "Penny Lane" tradition. Here's a tidbit of trivia for you. The very end of the coda of Mr. Blue Sky features a vocoder voice saying "please turn me over." As it's the last song on the third side of the Out Of The Blue album, it's instructing the listener to turn the record over for side four. "Mr. Blue Sky" is a song by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), featured on the band's seventh studio album Out of the Blue (1977). Written and produced by front man Jeff Lynne, the song forms the fourth and final track of the "Concerto for a Rainy Day" suite, on side three of the original double album.

Cantstopsinging Your hard work paid off big time, Rik. Imo, a best of for you. You should check out more ELO tracks.. I loved working with them.. Just prepare to spend a chunk of time on them..as you are already aware!! Again- great job
Reply: Yes indeed Joyce, I am working on "Turn To Stone" right now. Jeff Lynne is a genius to say the least. He adds so many little textures throughout the songs that truly mean so much to the final product. Thanks so much for listening .
