This is a pretty difficult arrangement… I like the earlier work of Diana Krall because her piano playing was so great and her voice was in much better shape. I tried to do this song justice but it sounded better quite frankly a few years ago. |

Reply: Diana Krall used to do more obscure jazz material with a lot of piano playing. I think they have marketed her differently as more of a crossover pop artist which to me is a shame. I miss her piano playing and the difficulty of her music which she doesn't seem to embrace anymore. As her voice ages, she is sounding a little bit more like the older Joni Mitchell. If you listen to her work from 20 years ago, she sounds very different. |
