KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - OoRIKoO performs Ill Take Care Of You on Karaoke Showcase - Due to multiple surgery's on both hands I wasn't able to play guitar for almost 3 yrs. However a few months ago I picked up an old Telecaster I had hanging on my studio wall and gave her a try. After practicing and getting my hands acclimated to their old ways I am back. Finally. This is the first song I learned on guitar and that was 59 years ago. I am playing guitar on this track and singing it of course. Thanks to Terry, Tom, Panama and Kim for coming in studio and helping me get this done. They are musicians extraordinaire. I edited out the last 90 seconds as it was all guitar and this is obviously a singing site, LOL. Written by Brook Benton and originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1959 "I'll Take Care of You" reached number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January of 1960.

Jerry It's been so long since I picked up one of my guitars, I know my fingers would be so very sore...the calluses are long gone, but I play unplugged. I must give you a BIG applause...this is radio (these days YouTube or iTunes) ready. To me, this is now your best work!
Reply: Jerry my friend I hope all is well down Texas way. Yep I went through a few bottles of "New Skin" getting my fingers up to par, timing was an issue at first and then singing while playing. I was a mess but once I settled down it came back pretty quick. I am so glad to hear your feedback as this song means so much to me and has for years and years. Thank you Jerry.

Cantstopsinging My 1st time hearing this song and around 3:04 you gave out a wail that Robert Plant would be envious of. I'll bet alot of inspiration from that injury actually inspired you ironically in your playing of this blues! 2 thumbs up
Reply: Hi Joyce and you may be right about the insperation. I never thought of it that way. I haven't been so excited about the guitar since my teenage years. Thanks for the awesome feedback. Oh and the "wail" comes from having 6 kids. LOL
