KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - OoRIKoO performs Ill Take Care Of You on Karaoke Showcase - Due to multiple surgery's on both hands I wasn't able to play guitar for almost 3 yrs. However a few months ago I picked up an old Telecaster I had hanging on my studio wall and gave her a try. After practicing and getting my hands acclimated to their old ways I am back. Finally. This is the first song I learned on guitar and that was 59 years ago. I am playing guitar on this track and singing it of course. Thanks to Terry, Tom, Panama and Kim for coming in studio and helping me get this done. They are musicians extraordinaire. I edited out the last 90 seconds as it was all guitar and this is obviously a singing site, LOL. Written by Brook Benton and originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1959 "I'll Take Care of You" reached number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January of 1960.

Keepinitcntry Hey Rik, This has a bluesy sound to it. It wasn't what I expexted. Joe Croker comes to mind. I smiled real big when you lifted off with your guitar. Shoot, I was enjoying it too!!! Lol. First off, I'm real happy to see you playing again and thanks to you, all of your talent, your crew for sharing this. Really good my friend.~Mark~
Reply: Oh Wow Mark what a fantastic comment. Thanks so much. I really do appreciate it my friend. I don't think Cocker ever did this tune though he sure as hell should of. I can't find any mention of him doing it anywhere.

Lord Burnstrum I'm glad to see this song submitted here as it's one seldom heard. Since the 50s it has been recorded by artists as diverse as Bobby Bland, Joe Bonamassa, Gil Scott-Heron, Rebecca Ferguson, Rihanna and Drake. (My personal favourite being the upbeat Gil Scott-Heron / Jamie XX version). As for your own version it is terrific! Vocals are strong and full of expression. Sorry to hear about your troubles playing guitar but this was definitely worth the wait.
Reply: My sweet Lord, Krishna, Krishna, Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu' Gurur Devo, Maheshwara, Gurur Sakshaat, Parabrahma, Tasmayi Shree, Guruve Namah, Hare Rama, My Sweet Lord. Wheew, I've been wanting to do that since the first time I saw you here and that would be years ago. No disrespect anywhere I was impelled. LOL LB thanks so much for your awesome support over these years I do so appreciate it my friend. AND it was very cool that you knew this tune as most do not. I love it personally.

KaraTroll Hi Rik, this is a brilliant rendition. Your voice is excellent and so is your guitar play. It's great that you could bring your old Telecaster back to life. Kara
Reply: Hi Kara, tanks for this awesome comment and I loved playing that guitar. It's a 1954.
