KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Cantstopsinging performs Darlin Baby on Karaoke Showcase - Here's one for the Baby Challenge with a funny personal story to go with it. Is there ever a song you know you've heard before but can't place it and suddenly it appears? A few years ago, walking down the street, a man drives by with this song blasting in his car. My brain lit up.. and picture this- I ran after the car! It just so happens, he was parking the car. I approached him. What's the name of that song?- I love it, I shout.. Poor man didn't know what hit him. He told me the title and said someone made the tape for him. When I got home, I made my own music track for it as I still had my magic keyboard. I played all the instruments, digitally, by ear. Drumming is the hardest and I messed up my hand permanently, making my own tracks.. This song was released in 1966 by Motown group, The Elgins. As far as I know, it's not on karaoke. Thank you from me and the Social-Lites if you'd like to listen

Lord Burnstrum I'm a big fan of soul and Motown but this is a new song for me. Very pleasing on the ears and all your voices are in top form.
Reply: Thank you very much. It's a rare song and I am glad I got to make a backtrack for it

chrisdanielz Hiya Joyce! All these baby songs, I figured there was some kind of challenge going on. I'll try to get in on it next time. Or is it still going? I will say one thing...You always surprise me with your songwriting and arrangements. Great job!
Reply: Hi Chris.. I did not write this. Wish I did

OoRIKoO Oh Yes Joyce, The Elgins? Nice grab my friend. I about broke my enter button when I saw this post. Fantastic song choice and an equally fantastic sing. Love this.
Reply: Hi Rik..for a song that isn't well known, you and I sure jump for joy on it, don't we? I wish there was a video of me chasing the car that was playing this. Many thanks!

mav2100 Wow, Wow, Wow! Joyce you have again proven How talented you are! Not to mention how bold. LOL! I Have never heard this one before so for these ears it's all yours. It may as well be since you built it from Percussion to Harmonies and everything in between. You are amazing. These are so hard to comment on because there is so much to mention. First the track is fabulous. How you pick each and every minute thing and add it. I do believe the percussion and the bassline would have ended it for me. Then the melody is perfect. Your pitch is amazing. Those Social-lites are always the perfect backup singers. Their harmonies are always spot on and their timing is meticulous. Do you believe as I do that people who harmonize are generally easier to get along with? LOL! Tell me it's true! This entire package is a Labor of Love and nobody does it like you do. Great Song! Great Description! Great Production top to bottom! 4 thumbs up from Chicago !! You ROCK, Joyce!! I love it! Mwahhhhhh, Pam
Reply: Hi Pam.. Maybe people that sing harmony are more harmonious!! LOL.. Sure helps me get through the day. I am going to send you a link to the original on youtube.. When I was making my own backtracks, I found the Motown ones and Phil Spector ones easier!! Thanks so very very much for the listen and kudos

Starlyter - Brad Just another great example of the artist you truly are Joyce. Must admit I never ran down any street to get a title but can imagine you doin the sprint, Kimono fluttering behind like a super girl cape. First, this is a great song choice for the Baby Challenge and your coming in at #16, and your 2nd. A terrific vocal, instrumentation and backing vocals my friend. Great listen this morning to your Motown entry. Thanks for joining the challenge...Brad
Reply: Hi Brad.. I am laughing at your cape comment!!! LOLOLOL.. Many thanks
