I thought I heard all of Ray Stevens before. I stand corrected. I recently did a recording of the original Johnny Mathis version but I must admit, this rendition is a sparked-up version (Corvette vs Cady). Really enjoyed you in this one Chet. Great vocals.......Brad |
Reply: Yup.. Unless u heard it way back when..u might never have.. So glad u stopped by.. Thanks a bunch... Chet |

ChetBassetti performs Misty on Karaoke Showcase of Karaoke Scene Magazine Online: ChetBassetti performs Misty on Karaoke Showcase - "Misty" is a jazz standard written in 1954 by pianist Erroll Garner. He composed it and recorded it for the album Contrasts (1955). Lyrics were added later by Johnny Burke. It became the signature song of Johnny Mathis, appearing on his 1959 album. Country and pop singer Ray Stevens (known as a comedic singer) had a number 14 hit with his version of "Misty" in 1975 It is the title track of his twelfth studio album of the same name.
I was in my early 20's when this song was released. It is my first song that I sang in public.
This is before karaoke...but..it was surely during way-too-many-beers-singing-era...but..I think it was one of the first songs that inspired me to sing...Chet Misty, ChetBassetti, Singer, singers, Karaoke Showcase, Karaoke Showcase, karaoke, Karaoke Scene, singing, songs, submissions, member, members, song, title
