What’s New Dec 2005
At 2:31pm on October 23rd the record for the longest Karaoke group session (100 hours) was broken at Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance, CA. The new record stands at 108 hours! All of this, of course, is pending verification and certification from the Guinness Book of Records and we all hope there won’t be any issues with that.
That being said, an event like this always seems to bring out the best in people and this was no exception. There are so many people to thank that it would be impossible to name them all here. You all know who you are…you are the kind and generous folks that gave of your time, energy, talents and money to help those in their moment of desperate need. Our hats are off to all of you and may God bless you for your help. Every single penny raised was sent to the Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Fund, a total of $3,160.
Special thanks go to George Brandt, the owner of Palos Verdes Bowl and his fine staff and Tony DeFazio, owner of Star Light Karaoke. We would also like to thank VocoPro, Ace Karaoke, Sound Choice, Leadsinger and DigiPie for their support of this very worthy cause. The success of this event can be pretty much summed up like this, “Karaoke Cares.”
Moving on, the holiday season is fast approaching and Karaoke products are already flying off the shelves. Discs, microphones, players, speakers, complete systems for home or professional use, you name it, and they’re buying it. What great gifts these Karaoke products would make for your friends and family! Chances are the inventories will run low as we close in on Christmas so it’s probably a good idea to shop as early as you can to get just the right Karaoke gifts.

Finally, this is the time of year for all of us to celebrate the holidays and to remember all of our family and friends. Let us also take the time to remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who are fighting for freedom all around the world. We owe them an incalculable debt of gratitude. We hope you will join with all of us here at Karaoke Scene in wishing them the very best this holiday season. And from us, to all of you, may you have the most joyous of holidays and a most prosperous and song filled New Year!
