What’s New Oct 2004
As we head into autumn, Karaoke steadily marches toward becoming the premier form of entertainment both at nightclubs and at home. The rise in home sales of Karaoke hardware and software is evidence of its broadening appeal to the general public. We are happy for this as we feel that Karaoke offers so many positive things for everyone…poise, self confidence, camaraderie…it’s uplifting, therapeutic, educational…and the list goes on and on.
There is word of a new Karaoke concept for television percolating under the surface. It would involve people who are participating in a major Karaoke singing competition and would even get up close and personal with some of the contestants. The outline of the project is very interesting and appears sound to us. We, of course, will keep you informed as it develops and our readers will be the first to know if and when it comes together.
In other news, there continue to be significant technological advances that will bring Karaoke to higher levels thought not possible only a short time ago. We are tuned in to these and will be telling you about them as they come into the marketplace. In this issue, Brigitte Wolf sits down with Caryn Mimoun of Music Maestro (one of Karaoke’s real pioneers) for an interesting conversation including a new product called “Disc on Demand” which will be hitting Karaoke stores soon. This sounds like it should become a real hit with Karaoke singers. Give it a read, you should find it very interesting.
Our staff is already planning for KaraokeFestTM 2005. We are leaning toward Knott’s Berry Farm as its location once again due to the huge success of last year’s event, but we haven’t made a final decision at this time. Let us hear from you if you think Knott’s is the place or have another suggestion for a location. You can email your comments to info@KaraokeScene.com. KaraokeFestTM is an event for the entire Karaoke community so we look forward to your input.
