What’s New Feb 2004
It’s Knott’s! That’s right, Karaoke Scene Magazine is proud to announce that KaraokeFest 2004 will be held at America’s first theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm, in Buena Park, CA! There are a lot of “firsts” here. This is the first “Fest” ever held in Orange County; the first “Fest” held at such a large venue; the first time “Fest” ticket holders may enjoy all of the rides and attractions of a major theme park; the first “Fest” to feature 7 additional Karaoke stages located throughout the venue all along the midway (including a special children’s stage in Camp Snoopy) for any and all to sing all day long; and the first “Fest” to introduce Karaoke at its finest to literally thousands of the general public.
The excitement level for this venue is already reaching a fever pitch and we are being inundated with requests for tickets, which leads me to the best part. As per our special arrangement with the fine folks at Knott’s, tickets for KaraokeFest 2004 will be priced at an amazingly low $18 which not only includes KaraokeFest but all of Knott’s world famous rides and attractions…all day long. That’s right! You can arrive when the park opens at 10am and spend the whole day riding the rides, seeing the shows, Karaokeing at one of the 7 stages along the midway (including a special children’s stage in Camp Snoopy), checking out all the latest and greatest in Karaoke hardware and software at the many Expo booths also located on the midway, and finally experiencing all the drama and excitement of the main show at KaraokeFest 2004.

The main show at “Fest” will be held in the magnificent Charles M. Schulz Theater (formerly called the Good Time Theater). With seating for over 2,000 people, many of the biggest acts in show business have graced its stage and now the Crème de la Crème finals and the Golden Achievement Awards will be added to that stellar list. What a thrill it will be for all of our finalists and Golden Achievement Award winners to make their appearance on that grand stage!
The voting for the Karaoke Golden Achievement Awards will begin February 1st and end on March 15th. You may vote online at www.KaraokeFest.com or click on the KaraokeFest link to the left. Only one vote per email address and two votes per IP address will be accepted. Please take this opportunity to vote for your favorite KJs and venues that you deem worthy of recognition at KaraokeFest 2004. And encourage you Karaoke friends to vote, too. Everyone’s participation is so important because the more votes we receive, the more representative the results. Please help us make the Golden Achievement Awards the “Oscars” of Karaoke, something we can all point to with pride. Winners of each category will be called up onto the stage to be recognized and receive their award during the main show.
