Cantstopsinging: Now this was a new rarity for me. This was quite different from Inagadda...Your vocals were a fine introduction to this song. I tend to confuse this band with the Strawberry Alarm Clock. A definite winner for you.
Reply: Hi Joyce,
I remember the length of In A gadda da vida. We were pretty young then and my big brother who's 5 years older that I shared a bed room with always was listening to the album. So when he wasn't home, I got to enjoy the other songs on the album. This has always been a favorite. TY so much for sharing your thoughts with me tonight. So glad you enjoyed it. TY!!!~Mark~ |

Cantstopsinging: Perfect retro mix, perfect singing.. a very best of best.. oh and a great song choice too. This backtrack has kind of a British beat group take on an American hit.
Reply: Good evening Joyce!! Thank you very very much for listening and for leaving your totally wonderful comments!! Cantstopsinging: Hi Bev..This was very 80's :) Didn't think I knew it till you hit the refrain. A high energy song and you lived up to the pace..:) Liked that delay effect too. Thanks for adding some life to SS.. Joyce

Cantstopsinging: Hi Mark.. This song and your singing of it was a winner. As usual, good job on the backups. I so recall hearing this on the AM radio in 1967. Loved the organ. Speaking of 'peppermint'.. I started baking some chocolate cookies intent on adding peppermint extract. I opened the bottle and there was nothing left! Lovely sha la las on the outro too.. Joyce
Reply: Hi Joyce,
I bet you like peppermint patties, don't ya? !!! Continuing my journey of the songs we grew up to. Always enjoy having you stop and hearing your thoughts. TY!!! ~Mark~ |

Cantstopsinging: My 1st time hearing this.. Your vocals remind me of a brighter voiced Johnny Cash on this. You have your own signature style which is fine to hear. Well worth the trip over here..Joyce
Reply: Hey There Joyce!! I really appreciate your totally cool comments!! AND thank you for listening!! Hope you have a terrific week!!! RICH |

Cantstopsinging: Thank you for asking me in on this, Mark and thanks to anyone giving kudos to this collaboration of you and the Social-Lites. You sang this with joy and made it to the highs smoothly.. Pat yourself on the back for retaining your uppers!! Joyce
Reply: Hi Joyce,
You effortlessly fill all the vocals (more then one) with all the songs I drum up. I enjoyed reading about your dislike of the song back when you were 9. The rolling stones would have their day as I think we did great on this. I love it!!! TY~Mark~ |
