I was wonder who still uses karaoke books and signup slips...or online. I feel there are both pro and cons for both.

Slips and the old "tell me what you want to sing". Haven't used books in years.

Many of the KJs I know, stopped printing those "Money Suck" books ages ago.
The Computer/Smart Phone solution is cheaper it seems.
(But most still have a book or two around.)

I mainly use remote request through cell phone requests and I set up a PC for those that do not want to log into my router, which by the way is used only for karaoke requests, no internet connection. I also carry two books with slips "just" in case

I use a book, last printing: 2007

People love the books. Of course I only do old-people karaoke. :)
