I liked this...a lot. First, I always liked the song, but there are spots in your version that sound better to me than the original. You have such a distinctive, yet classic country, voice. But, damnit, Duston...you did it again...you improved the quality of the recording by about 210% within the first 60-seconds or so. I would like to know why the first 30-seconds of your songs are so often the LEAST impressive part. I think it takes you that long to get into the song.
Don't misunderstand. The first 30-seconds are great! Not a thing in the world wrong with them. I'm just saying once you get into the song, you sound 210% better than you sound in the first 30-seconds. Let me know if I'm being a pain in the ass. |

I may have mention this before...I grew up in a small Oklahoma town where John's uncle was my long time barber. John's real last name is Dutchendorf. He would visit his uncle and we kids were amazed at his talent...he played a 12-string like I'd like to play a 6-singer. I use to play this song my guitar and sing it, and other songs, for people around town. You've produced, mixed and recorded top shelf performance here Duston. Excellent... |
