I also, grew up on a ranch in western kentucky and most of my early life was on some horse or t'other. I don't know how you did this voice so perfectly matched to Mr. Nelson...but I can't seem to tell the difference between you two...Chris |
Reply: Thank you very much Chris. A whole Lotta practice singing along with Willie and trying to emulate his vocal tone, and nasally resonance, and trying to have that country twang, it seems a bit silly i guess to try and emulate others, but when I was a kid there were people who made a living impersonating other people talking or singing. I always wanted to do that, never got good enough to make money at it, but it is fun trying and a fun hobby for me. Thanks again :) |

My dad (a true cowboy)always kept a cattle crop running on the ranch and his advice to me was always the same. He told me, many times, 'Son, remember if you get in the cattle business and stay you'll go broke many times!' It's a feast or not business. As to your recording, it's uncanny how much you sound like a younger Willie when his voice was stronger! Amazing...this is a perfect sound and mix. Outstanding...an amazing and artistic recording! |
