KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Lord Burnstrum II performs The road to Dundee on Karaoke Showcase - This old tune from Scottish folklore gained new popularity in 1969 courtesy of Scottish folk duo The Corries. Many recorded versions omit the verse in which the woman in the song pays the male subject for showing her to Dundee, thus killing the romance of the situation. Suzanne Lanoue Very nice song. The beginning sounds a little bit like "Away in a Manger". Fine singing, my friend!
Reply: Funnily enough you mentioning "Away in a manger", I have known "Dundee" for much longer than I have known the version of "Away" that's popular in America (we have an alternative [inferior] melody in the UK) and I immediately picked up on the tune similarity when I first heard it. Thank you fo listening Suzanne.

KaraTroll This is a really heartfelt rendition on a beautiful Folk song, Lord. So I had a most enjoyable listen.
