Hi Hoss: This is a rhythmically driven kind of song and perhaps it would help you a great deal while practicing this to tap your toes with the beat as you sing (in your head, count off the beat in half time like this: "One two, one two, one two, one two", and so on). I think you honestly know the song (everybody does) and I'm guessing what made Suzanne think you didn't was how you were quite off when it came to some of the higher notes (I wish I could sit at the piano and literally show you where they should be at). Since we can't do that, the best advice I can only give you is to truly STUDY Presley's recording, listen to exactly where he places his notes while he sings and sing along with him. It's always hard to be helpful in this kind of forum where one can't actually demonstrate vocally to another singer the advice they are suggesting, so I hope some things mentioned might help you. I liked that you used your voice and didn't impersonate Elvis! Keep going at it--you'll get it! |

Same as previous comments I've made to you - you need to listen to the original and really learn how it goes. Your notes are way off and the rhythm isn't even close. If the song is too hard for you, pick something easier. |
