Don Gibson first wrote and recorded it in 1956. Later Faron Young recorded it and changed the last verse, Patsy Cline recorded it and a lot of controversy about violin's, she didn't like violins in her music. When she finished recording it she said "Well here it is, the first and the last", sadly it was her last recording. When Don Gibson did this song, he merely duplicated the first verse for the last verse, I am singing his version. I do sing Patsy's version also.
