I heard about this song from a book I checked out at a public library, "American Ballads & Folk Songs", by John A and Alan Lomax (1966).
The song was in sheet music form. I picked out the melody notes on my guitar and then recorded my version of it.
Many artists and bands have recorded it; Buster Brown, Jimmy Dean, Carl Smith, Gus Cannon, The Old Crow Medicine Show, East River String Band, MacWorry Hillbillies, Riley Puckett, and others.
It's also titled as "Gonna Raise A Ruckus Tonight".
