Happy MM rock fans! I've looked forward to recording this classic rocker, for some time, now. Completed this past weekend, here's my version of "Mississippi Queen", a song by American hard rock group, Mountain. Released in '79, it turned out to be Mountain's most successful single, reaching #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 record chart, that same year. The song's been covered by numerous bands, through the years, most notably Ozzy Osborne, for his 2005 album, 'Under Cover'. "Mississippi Queen" has appeared on several soundtracks, most recently, for the action-packed movie, "The Expendables". In this mix, I've tried to reproduce a sound field that simulates an open arena, giving the recording a 'live' vibe and, hopefully, enhancing the listening experience, overall. IMO, it's the only way to listen to this early form of 'guitar shredding' (i.e., a technique used mostly by Metal bands of the '80s). BAM, go ahead and crank it up (Beware the Surgeon General's warning; loud music can damage your hearing - LMAO)! Hope everyone enjoys my rendition of this great rocker.
