KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Cantstopsinging performs Some Hearts on Karaoke Showcase - Thanks to Bev for introducing this song to me. "Some Hearts" is a song written by Diane Warren. It was originally recorded in 1987 by Belinda Carlisle for her album Heaven on Earth, but the song didn't make the final track list. To this day Carlisle's version remains unreleased officially, however it has been leaked onto the internet in its demo form. The first released recording was by Marshall Crenshaw for his 1989 album Good Evening. Singers that have covered the song include Kelly Levesque, featured in the 2001 film America's Sweethearts, and Maria Arredondo, for her 2004 album Not Going Under. In 2005, it was recorded by Carrie Underwood as the title track of her debut album, Some Hearts, and was the album's third single. It was only released to pop and adult contemporary radio in the United States in November 2005, around the same time that "Jesus, Take the Wheel" was released to country radio. "Some Hearts" peaked at number twelve on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and reached number twenty-two on the Adult Top 40 chart. The song had no accompanying music video and was not released to country radio.
