KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - JA.MARTINEZ performs REASON TO BELIEVE on Karaoke Showcase - Here's a newly recorded song I always love to sing, especially, at public venues. "Reason to Believe" is an exquisitely crafted song that was written and first recorded by American folk singer, Tim Hardin in 1965. It's been recorded by a number of other artists, most notably, Rod Stewart whose version is the best known one. Stewart released his version in the '71 album, "Every Picture Tells a Story" while also releasing the song as a double A-sided single along with his signature song, "Maggie May". The popular song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart where, altogether, it remained on the BH 100 chart for over 41 weeks. From both a tonal and phrasing standpoint, I've taken some liberties in the way I presented some of the song's verses. At the same time I've taken care to remain fairly true to Stewart's original arrangement. Let me know if you're able to pick out these changes as they come up, during the course of my sing. I hope everyone across the globe has a super week, including all of my American cohorts, as we gather with family and friends to celebrate our traditional Thanksgiving holiday. TC.
