Trower's uncontested mastery of the Fender Stratocaster (bends & wobbles) when combined with a pre-arranged mix of amps by Marshall, Fender Blues Junior and Cornell produces a very distinctive sound. In "Too Rolling Stoned", Trower uses a D-tuning technique to achieve a much heavier and deeper sound. The arrangement underscores feelings of abandonment along with a heavy-metal in-your-face precision that's almost too good to be true. It's no surprise Trower's often been compared to the late, great Jimi Hendrix, in both his technique and style (i.e., unfortunately, the copycat pronouncements are not always presented in a positive light). "TRS" is included in his acclaimed breakout solo album, "Bridge of Sighs". It was released in '74 on Chrysalis Records, earning RIAA gold certification five short months later (note: Trower was a member of the popular rock group, Procol Harum, from '67-'71). Since I couldn't find a comparable Karaoke version of this song I used my trusty VR software (MTU's Vogone) to create the customized backing heard in my sub, today. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this great classic (all BG vocals are mine except the occasional shout from peeps in the audience - LOL).
