Hope everyone had a great weekend and happy MM! In continuing with my practice for my 80's theme gig...this one is a special request by the organizer of the show and I'm thrilled to do it! In my opinion this is one of the greatest power ballads of all time...sang by one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Journey has been a staple band of our band and we've been covering them since the early 80's when this song first came out. In fact I met Andy while performing in between "Stone In Love & Faithfully" or was it "Any Way You Want It"? LOL take good care friends |

Hey Steven! Yes, one of the greatest power ballads of all time, sang by one of the greatest vocalists of all time... and NOW, covered by one of the greatest SS members of all time! Your voice sails effortlessly through those high choruses. Excellent job, man! Say hi to Andrea for me... I was reading her comment; "Stone In Love" is a great song to start off a show with. You ROCK! |
Reply: Hey dude, I remember your version of Stone In Love some years back & it was totally killer! Yea we did open with that but the only downside to that particular band was the band..they were sub par at best. I have the recording of that gig on video but I think it's better preserved as a memory!LOL Steve Perry is definitely on my top 5 male vocalists & did you know he was 63 years old? haven't heard him sing in a while but I bet he still got it! Thanks very much man! |
