I am using a pair of SENNHEISER HD Pro head phones to listen here, and I simply don't hear anything here to critique. I love every second of this !!! I don't know the song, have never heard it before, so for me it was all you entertaining my ears and I can't get enough!! Thank you :) |
Reply: Very sweet. It's a Beatles song, you should look it up! :) |

Well, as far as entertaining people in a live manner, I would never do this one. It's too slow and kind of boring. (The song, not your singing). On the recording, your guitar really drowns out your voice. I didn't like that you made it even slower than the original. That is deathly slow. The singing was fine, though! |
Reply: Thanks, Suzanne! I guess I've been kind of trapped in a 'slow, boring' song mantra for a while now... just kind of an emotional thing, I guess (plus, it's easier to play slow stuff! lol). It's great to get that kind of feedback though. I really appreciate it. :) |

I like it when someone can take a song and really make it their own...that's a definitely advantage of being able to play. Vocally, I didn't think it was the strongest I've heard from you, honestly. There's a lack of consistency in your vocal volume, and I do think a little effects would be helpful to give you a bit softer sound. I did enjoy listening to you. |
Reply: Thank you for the suggestions :) Yeah, I'm not going to be using any vocal effects, even if I wanted to, I can't really because my voice and guitar are on the same track, but the next time I record it to share, I will try to pay closer attention to my balance on the vocals. I'll also have to give it another listen and see if I can hear what you're referring to. Thanks again! :) |

I think this arrangement is lovely. Have you thought about going full falsetto on some of the top notes? I think that go well with what you're playing on guitar. Enjoyed my listen. -Jon |
Reply: It did not occur to me, but I'll take it under consideration and see what happens if I work it in. Thanks! :) |

Interesting arrangement...Nice guitar work, and the only critique I would make for this great song is to put some more volume on the vocal a wee bit. Even though the guitar sounds great,I think the voice should be heard above all, after all this is what you are mainly showcasing. But overall,GOOD JOB Syberchick! |
Reply: Thank you, yeah apparently the vocal didn't come through as much as I planned it to. Glad you like the arrangement, I'll probably put up a revised version after working on it for a while, polishing it up and such... just wanting to make sure I'm on the right track here! :) Thanks so much. |

syberchick70 performs Across The Universe on Singer's Showcase of Karaoke Scene Magazine Online: syberchick70 performs Across The Universe on Singer's Showcase - This is experimental and there are a few guitar flubs (a big one at the end). This song has been redone tons of times by tons of people, but I'm just curious to know what folks think of the rework I'm doing with this piece.
