I'm going to second Mark's suggestion of headphones, they really help cut down on pitch issues (I've had my fair share of those as well, haha!). Since everyone has already mentioned the pitchy spots, I'm just going to say how much I enjoyed this number. I don't you can ever go wrong with Blondie and you sound wonderful. -Jon |
Reply: Thanks, but I can't really use headphones... I don't like singing with them and also since I have such bad allergies and my ears are often plugged up, headphones make my ears feel too bad. The issues here are not from not being able to hear the music - I crank it! :) I just didn't work as hard on it as I should have and overshot the pitch, trying not to make it flat, I overcompensated. And then uploaded the sub before I should have...should have listened to it more and re-did it again.... |

Very nice energy on this difficult song. I did notice that the beginning of each phrase, the 'Once I had a love' in particular, was running on the sharp, as well as the 'ooh-ooh whoa-oh' parts. The rest seemed to be mostly in tune. Your timing was mostly on track, although a little sluggish on some of the parts where the words had to squeeze in there. This is one area where I think it would be great if we could manipulate the karaoke tracks a lot more, for example I think it would help a lot if you could slow this down (as I often do with my songs), so you are able to get a more 'relaxed' quality from your voice. Might be fun to experiment with that. :) It's always fun to choose a Blondie song! Thanks for sharing it with us and the opportunity to give you feedback! |
Reply: Thanks! I don't think the first part was sharp, but I will look into that when I redo it...thanks! |

Nice job on this, Suzanne! One thing I heard that you can work on was the "oooo-ohhhs". You're too high(sharp)on the note. Once you hear the original again, you'll see what I mean. |
Reply: Thanks! I think I was trying so hard not to sound flat on those I over-did it ;) |
