Hi Folks? **Take These Chains From My Heart** was written by Fred Rose and Hy Heath. Fred Rose later signed Hank Williams to his publishing company in 1946 and when Hank Williams became a Country star a year later he became his manager. Hank Williams recorded the song but sadly he died before this was released as a single. It hit the number one spot on the Country charts when it came out.
Later in 1963, Ray Charles recorded his version, it went to number eight in the US.
