judy_101 Hello Bob Just a few lines to say I think you are awesome of coarse we karaokers do karaoke our own way but I think you were as close to the original as you could be using a CDG for the music they are not always a perfect match to the original and yes I caught a few places in the song that didn't go right for you that happens to me too Nobodys perfect I still rate you a 5 cause thats the best rendition I've heard in a long time Hugggggs my friend by the way I am jujubee219 from karaokerush

EchoesKJDJ Hello Bob, I won't be as critacle as "exweedfarmer" LoL But my question would be, How were you feeling this song as you whe sing it? I can't add to "exweedfarmer's" critic because you sounded good to me... If a thousand singers sang this song it would take on at least a couple houndred different moods/feelings... I really enjoyed your rendition here... Greg L.
Reply: I felt - "it's 1964 again and I remember the radio control room smelled of cigarette and floor wax. And after a few soda's, my bladder back then, didn't need as much maintenance as it needs now. Gas was cheap. Global warming hadn't started and the telephone lines rang off the hook when I played this song so that the kids could have it dedicated to their boy/girl friends....."

exweedfarmer Operating on the idea that "Good Job" etc. is not a critique because it won't help you improve.... I thought your timing was all over the place. This song has a nice little sway to it and I suggest you sway as you sing it to correct the timing errors. The vocal effects processing and EQ did not match that of the background music, not much you could do about that if this was an on stage recording otherwise.... I didn't get the feeling that you were trying to cheer up a friend (the theme of the song) but simply reciting words. I hope this was helpful.
Reply: Having played this song on the radio since 1964, I'm pretty certain that the timing is about the same as the original. The musical crescendo's are suppose to rise and fall around the words (check the original). I'm certain that I hit a few off-keys here and there, but just doing this song for "old time sakes" was my main motivation. IT'S JUST A SONG - NOT BRAIN SURGERY... Everybody does karaoke differently - "whatever floats your boat"... right everyone?

Jim29 A classic! One of those that brings back memories. Very nice job!
Reply: I was a 20 year old kid when G. and P.M.s recorded this song and I had the pleasure of playing it many many times while working at my first radio station back then.

lostcharm Hi Bob, A wonderful listen at my end...Vic
Reply: Thanks Vic - I still think that I slide under those notes when "The Birds sing"...But hey.. I'm no Gerry and the Pacemakers. I once, even tried to do -"you'll never walk alone". Everything was OK until those last few notes at the end. Another octave lower maybe, but it wouldn't have been the same thing....As Dirty Harry said - "A man's got to know his limitations."...
