"Here's to the Losers" was written by Jack Segal (music) and Robert Wells (lyrics) in 1963. Sinatra recorded it that year with a Marty Paich arrangement. I'm singing over the original recording with vocal elimination and key reduction. The really tough part of this song is at the end. One has to sing the phrase, "here's to the losers" three times before concluding with the phrase, "bless them all." I find the final "here's to the losers" extremely difficult to get right, but on this take I got as close as ever before, so I'm going with it. -- Donn |
