Written by Vincent Youmans (music) and Edward Eliscu & Billy Rose (lyrics) in 1929 for the musical, "Great Day," Frank Sinatra recorded this wonderful standard four times -- 1941, 1945, 1961 (this version), and 1962 (live in Paris). I'm singing over the original 1962 recording, with vocal elimination. This is a difficult song to sing well, so I hope I do it justice; I've tried over and over to get it as good as I can, and I'm still not completely satisfied. Your honest critiques are welcome. |
