KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - DonnWeinberg performs Im a Fool to Want You on Karaoke Showcase - I just recorded this song and "Don'cha Go 'Way Mad" last night, so these are fresh. My voice problems are resolved now, just with the passage of time and better reflux control. TMI? : ) This song was written by Joel Herron (music) and Jack Wolf and Frank Sinatra (lyrics) in 1951. What a heartbreaking song of a love not fully returned and an extremely unfaithful lover. Sinatra's contribution to the lyrics probably relates to his chronic worries and arguments with his second wife, Ava Gardner, who matched Sinatra in sexual appetite and adventures. So, I guess Frank is crying crocodile tears. Sinatra recorded the song twice -- in 1951 with an Axel Stordahl arrangement; and in 1957 with a Gordon Jenkins arrangement. I'm singing over a Pocket Songs instrumental based on the 1957 version; it is an impressive copy of the original instrumentation. -- Donn

DEE I am so happy that you're feeling better DONN...I've always loved this piece DONN, and YOU singing this one only amazes me more. Such elegancy within your voice...Lovely as a red cardinal starring at me through my window, it's 6:00am and see red cardinals while I listen to people sing..so beautiful, both of them:) Love, DEE xox
Reply: Thanks, Dee. I like the look of cardinals, too. I also like the Arizona Cardinals, second only to my Baltimore Ravens. -- Donn
