KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - P Tucker performs Karma Police on Karaoke Showcase - Here's one from Mon. Jan. 18th, 2010. This song is a mystery to many as to what it actually refers to. Some say it's singer Thom Yorke's big middle finger to the music industry for trying to "shape and mold" the band into something that it's not, just for the sake of record sales. The "man who talks in maths, and buzzes like a fridge" (not a bitch) being the bean counter emphasizing always on the numbers. The "girl with the Hitler hairdo" more of something that society has shunned or outcast as "strange or different"...not necessarily referring to any particular hair style. "I've given all I can...it's not enough", possibly referring to the bands efforts to "stand out from the norm"...not necessarily conforming to any particular "style or trend" of popularity in music. "But we're still on the payroll"....maybe meaning "sticking it to the man"....rebelling and still succeeding as a band despite opposition from the industry know-it-alls. "For a minute there...I lost myself"....who knows? lol. Karma is real. I know. Good karma is earned. Bad karma sucks...and is easy to achieve. I like good karma. I've always been a pretty hard worker. Any 'ole rude and nasty person can rack up some bad karma. lol.
