KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Mark Cheetah performs Times Like These on Karaoke Showcase - Hey folks! It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope you've all been doing good! Lately, I've noticed a "disturbing trend." It looks like they're starting to clamp down on online broadcasting of karaoke tracks. Someone at YouTube told me that a bunch of his karaoke performances had been removed due to copyright infringement. Then, barely a day later, I posted a song at iComps and was told by an administrator that "backing tracks of any kind" are illegal. They basically said that in order to keep it completely legal, you'd pretty much have to chop down a tree with your bare hands, carve a wooden instrument out of it, play it yourself, write the song yourself, and not use help of ANY kind from any corporation (of course, I'm half kidding but you get the point). Does anyone know the details regarding this? It seems to be a recent development. Man, I'm tellin' ya... "Times Like These" are really starting to suck. Lets hope that we'll all be safe here at SS. Thanks for listening!
