KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Spritelyish performs Gone Too Soon on Karaoke Showcase - Judging from my typical submissions, you may not have pegged me for a Michael Jackson fan, but I've been a huge fan of his since childhood. I count him as one of my number one influences when it comes to wanting to sing (if not absolutely number one). I was shocked & saddened to hear of his passing. Besides making a girl feel old herself, it was just a complete surprise. :( This is a song that Michael dedicated to Ryan White, an American teen who was diagnosed with AIDS in the 1980s and had to battle the fear associated with the disease. The song was also on a CD for Princess Diana after her death. I thought it appropriate as a song to sing in remembrance of Michael. No matter what you thought of him as a person, or of his personal life, everyone knows that he changed everything about popular music as we know it today. It wouldn't have been the same without him, and it won't be the same anymore. Thanks for listening.
