Here is one of Strait's brand new tunes. This song is from his newest album by the same name. When I first heard this song, I really liked it. This song says a lot about my life. I have spent most of my life with a guitar in my hands playing from town to town and place to place. I have played to huge crowds that numbered in the thousands and I have played to 50. I just wanted to sing and play to who ever would listen to me. Here is a few lines from the song: "I stll feel 25, most of the time. I still raise a little cain with the boys. Honky tonks and pretty women. Lord, I still right there with them. Singing above the crowd and the noise. Well the truth about a mirror, is that a damn old mirror, don't really tell the whole truth. It don't show what's deep inside, oh, read between the lines, and it's really no reflection of my youth. Sometimes I feel like Jesse James, still trying to make a name. Knowing nothings gonna change what I am. I was a young troubadour when I rode in on a song, and I'll be an old troubadour when I'm gone." That sums it up pretty well. I'm not as young as I used to be. lol I only realize it when I move hundreds of pounds of equipment before and after a show, and stand with a heavy Les Paul guitar slung over my shoulders while I stand at a mic and sing with everything I have in me. I was a young troubadour when I started out, and I am gonna be an old troubadour when I am gone. A troubadour is rightly defined as a singer of songs. That says a lot about most of us here in SS! It is great to be back for a while. I hope you enjoy this tune. Many of you may not have heard Strait do this yet. I hope you get to hear him before long. I hope you like mine better! lol As always, I appreciate everyone who takes the time to stop in and listen to me and leave me a note. You are always wonderful people! Thank you so much for listening!--Mike |
