Thought this song would go down well for Metal Monday :) The pic is of Ashley MacIsaac and I, taken on my vacation in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia about a week ago.. He is a Canadian professional fiddler. While Ashley's fiddle-playing is entirely traditional, he often sets it in contemporary rock songs with hip hop and dance elements. ....He likes to perform every now and then in his homeland and I was fortunate enough to be there at the right time. Got to see him perform for close to 3 hours with a small break in between. The club was jam packed. .......He is known for his ability to cross the boundaries of folk, punk, garage rock, and metal, all bound together by his astonishing fiddle-playing, which branded him as an eccentric, an upstart, and in many cases, a pioneer. MacIsaac has sometimes been a controversial figure, who has often used shock tactics to gain attention BUT he was a complete gentleman with me during the 5 minute talk we shared. ......How cool to be able to say I got up and danced a jig while Ashley MacIsaac played in the background..lol .......**I HAVE UPLOADED A FEW PICS OF MY TRIP INTO MY SS ALBUM FOR ANYONE WHO MIGHT LIKE TO SEE THEM** :) |
