KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Catseyeview performs I’m the Only One on Karaoke Showcase - I’ve been in such a funk lately, I seemed to have lost nearly all my confidence as far as singing goes (as well as other things). Until two weeks ago that is. On Thursday, June 7, 2007, a very good friend of mine, who also happened to be the owner of the club where I do my shows, was killed in a motorcycle accident while out riding with friends. Man oh man has this ever floored me! The only reason I started gigging on a weekly basis again was at Arnold’s request because he was having some problems at the club and specifically asked for my help. When his wife Connie asked me to sing at his funeral I had to find my confidence in a hurry; not only did she ask me but she also asked the man who had played and sung at their wedding, an incredible musician named Jeff Gaunch. I think Arnold must have had some fingers in that deal because Jeff and I clicked so well we’re planning on doing a few projects together; he’s also asked me to sing with him at a few of his upcoming gigs as well as recording the songs we did at the service (he played acoustic as I sang one solo and we did two duets). I thought I’d sub a few of Arnold’s favorites as a dedication to my good friend; I can still see him standing there with his Kessler (nasty rotgut lol) noddin’ and smilin’ with approval. Ride in Peace brother, sure do miss you.
