KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - Debauchery performs Don't Get Me Wrong on Karaoke Showcase - This is an old stand-by of mine that I sing live when I can’t think of anything else to sing that particular night. I never was real familiar with it when it was popular, but back when I only had a handful of karaoke discs, I remember seeing this one and thinking “hmm, I wonder how that goes?” So I found the original and then recalled that I had heard it on the movie ‘Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion’. I thought it was a fun song to attempt, with all the different riffs and pitch variations. It went over well the first time I sang it at karaoke, even though I didn’t think it sounded so hot that night LOL. I tried recording this about a year ago, back when I first started trying to learn how to record. I didn’t like it, and never tried it again… until last night. Eh, still not all that thrilled with it but just felt like giving it a shot again. And it’s still fun to sing. So thanks for listening :)

auctionmusic WOW Debauchery, you sing this one most fantastic! This is a fav Pretender song for me, I am really amazed how good this is....I like this much!!!!
Reply: Hi Russ! Somehow I knew you'd pop in! I'm always so honored that you take the time to listen and comment. You've always got such interesting things to say about my subs. I really like that! Thanks again. This is my fav song of theirs as well. The lyrics always amused me. She's all pouring her heart out, but then says "don't get me wrong" just in case the recipient of the song doesn't quite feel the same way she does. Classic! :)

ml_texas Deb, this is fantastic! You sound incredible! I have always loved your voice but on this tune you have a really smokey, deep, and sexy sound! You really sound great! I loved listening to you!--Mike
Reply: Aww, Mike... there you go puffing my head up again. You just don't want me to leave my house, do ya? LOL! I've been told by a few people live that my voice is "smokey" and it makes me laugh sometimes because I'm a former smoker, and when I actually DID smoke, I never heard that. Ironic how that works, eh? Thank you for always listening, even when you're not familiar with certain songs I sing... and thank you also for always leaving those wonderful compliments. Oh, my poor head! LOL :)

elderberries Your voice is great for this - I mean really great! You have a voice that can be rocking and soft at the same time, which is impressive. I really like the control you show on those runs, too. I'll bet those are harder than they sound. :)
Reply: Wow, Amy! I really like the way you word things. You convey what you think about something so easily. I have to ramble just to get the same point across. I believe you're the first person who's made the observation regarding 'rocking and soft', and that is one of the most notable remarks I've ever received. I used to try for that sound to develop my 'own' voice rather than emulating someone else's. Those runs about killed me when I listened to the original. Thank you for everything you said! :)
