To set the stage for this song, the characters are Eponine and Marius. Eponine is a young woman who’s been desperately in love with Marius, but he’s been love with another woman. In trying to help Marius, Eponine has put herself in the line of fire at a barricade during the French Revolution, and been mortally wounded on the battlefield. Marius finds her, and they sing this song together just before she dies. A BIG thank you to JKolman for singing with me on this – you are just amazing, sir, and I’m tremendously flattered to have done this one with you!
