Description: |
I feel I am extremely lucky to have been born into a generation that produced some of, if not all of the greatest music ever written. With groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Hollies, The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Black Sabbath, CCR, Cream, The Zombies, The Kinks, The Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane, Blind Faith....shall I go on? Okay: The Jimmy Hendrix Experience' ELO, The Bee Gees, Sly and The Family Stone, Pink Floyd, The Monkees, CSNY.....well you get the picture.
"For What It's Worth" written by Stephen Stills and performed by Buffalo Springfield was recorded on December 5, 1966 and released in a rush as a single that same week. It peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the spring of 1967. In 2004 Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song at number 63 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. |
