This is a 1969 CCR song about a guy named Jody who saw a UFO land near him in a field in Moline, IL. The lyrics feature Various politicians and other figures attempt to use the incident for their own purposes including Vice Presedent Spiro Agnew wanting to impose a Mars Tax, then Governor Ronald Reagan calling it a communist plot, Walter Cronkite and Eric Sevaried putting him on a network TV show, and the Vatican claiming that the Lord has come.
Some really wild satirical lyrics, and a Chuck Berry style guitar work.
Personally, I found it a really cool song to sing with some great Rock N' Roll Rhythm! |
