We were doing an oldies show in Dallas with a 1,125 paying audience. We did oldie shows every quarter and they usually sold out. I had two songs to do, but the shows owner/manager came to me prior to curtain and asked me if I knew this song. I told him I did but had never performed it and wasn't sure of all the lyrics. He said, "Good, I need you to take the song tonight, because ____ called in sick and it was his song." So, I went to the car and listened to an Elvis CD that had this song. Then, I went back through the back stage door just as they were ready to announce this song. I got through it fine, but I had to change my under ware! LOL |
