How this day went for me. In my studio working on an old Hendrix tune and changing it up quite a bit when Darlene came in looking a little angry (she very seldom just walks in but has a key). She looked up at a video monitor and said if you're not going to sing love songs anymore then sell this shit! (she never holds back punches) Her eyes told me she was being serious. I thought for a moment, then put a chair right in front of me and then told her to sit down and be quiet. I flicked on a mic, adjusted the volume, looked her straight in the eye and sang this with my heart to her heart. There are times when a crying woman is a beautiful thing. |
