Description: |
I first heard this song on an lp belonging to my sister's of Roberta Flack's The lp was Killing Me Softly, 1973. The song was written by Janis Ian.
This is a completely different song from one of the same title by Carly Simon so.. it's a slow, sad song.
Thanks if you'd like to hear it |

I have never heard this song before. I am so thankful that you introduced this to me. Sigh.... even the intro is so pretty. This is so absolutely beautiful, Joyce. It sounds like it could have been made just for you. What a perfect fit for your voice You sing it with all the right passion. Every ounce of pain is felt by the listener. If I was ranking this would get a big 10. Perfect backing, perfect emotion, perfect vocals and perfect mix!! I am so keeping this one. One of the JD premium collection Standing Ovation from Chicago!! Mwahhhhhhhhhhh, Pam |
Reply: Hey Pam.. Reading your comment makes me very glad I posted this.. I am honored you have this in your collection- it's a hard song to sing because of the timing.. Many many many thanks |

A new one for me ears Joyce...It's a beauty. You've sung it like you feel every lyric in the song. This one of your recent best...and you've had so many! Love this recording...you sound so very sincere! |
Reply: Hi Jerry...That's interesting you mention about feeling every lyric in the song. I first heard the song years before I actually met a man named Jesse that I nearly married, that left. Thanks for checking this out! |
