Good Evening Kara!! Excellent song and great performance!! Loved listening to you!! Brings back memories of about 20 years ago when I was "Stuck in Lodi"! Was only supposed to be working there for about 3 weeks, but ended up being stuck working there (Lodi, CA) for 6 months !! The original (FIRST) A&W Root Beer is there! I drank lots of root beer for a few months before getting out of there!! Anyway.. totally enjoyed listening to you!!!!! RICH |

KaraTroll performs Lodi on Karaoke Showcase of Karaoke Scene Magazine Online: KaraTroll performs Lodi on Karaoke Showcase - A contribution to Pam's challenge titled "I Gotta Get Out Of Here!". So this song describes the plight of a down-and-out musician whose career has landed him playing gigs in the town of Lodi (pronounced "low-die"), a small agricultural city in California's Central Valley about 70 miles (110 km) from Fogerty's hometown of Berkeley. After playing in local bars, the narrator finds himself stranded and unable to raise bus or train fare to leave. Fogerty later said he had never actually visited Lodi before writing this song, and simply picked it for the song because it had "the coolest sounding name".
