Don, you make having the Blues a Blessing!! While you're playing all my pain on the bridge. Thank you for coming into my life and making me sing! I miss you every day! Thank you all for listening. One of my all time favourites. Love the song, love your voice, love Don's sax. Enjoyed this very, very much, Pam! |
Reply: Thank you so so much, Smooth Ed! I keep digging for songs with his sax lics and solos on them. He added sax to a lot of my songs when I recorded them. Then he added sax to his songs which are the ones I am exploring now. He was an amazing talent. Thank you for stopping in and for your fabulous comment. You are much too Kind and Smooth!! I sure do appreciate you very much, Mwahhhhhhhhhhhhh, Pam |

Don't recall whether I mentioned this but Larry Randall was a great friend of mine. He spent many years in Las Vegas. I produced some of his shows after he left Vegas...he also was known as the sax man...but played clarinet too. Acker Bilk (Strangers on The Shore) said Larry was the best Clarinet player in the world...and, gave Larry his instrument as an award. He preferred the sax though most of the time. Love your posting here...very, very bluesy and it's excellent. It made me face turn blue, and I drank a fifth of Scotch later to clear it up (nah, can't do that...meds interfere). This is one of your very best blues songs. Check out Randal's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFT7uN25KyU |
Reply: That's amazing Jerry. Acker Bilk was one of Don's idols on Clarinet. Then Earl Bostic & Boots Randolf on Sax. He introduced me to all their music. Don played Clarinet, Flute, Alto, Tenor, & Soprano sax. He wanted to buy a Baritone, but never got to it. I love hearing a good sax player and Clarinetists in second place. Don't get too blue there Jerry, I'll have to come cheer you up and then you will be sorry. LOL! Thank you so much for being so sweet and generous. You are da bomb!! Mwahhhh, Pam |
