Today marks the one year anniversary of my Buddy Don Janson's death.
I am still having a hard time believing he is gone. How could it possibly be a whole year ago?
I decided to sub my favorite Don & Pam Duet. I wanted to redo my half, but thought I could never
sing this song again. I didn't know it when I sang it then, and I still don't know it today.
I listened to the original a few times before I did my part and did it the only way I know how, my way.
Barbra Streisand I am not. I have reached the conclusion, I could never improve upon it, with all it's bumps,
bruises, scrapes and cuts. When I did my part and sent it back to Don, I titled it "Warts and All" and told
him in the email "Always love the warts they have a way of growing on you". When he downloaded it an listened
to it he was surprized as I refused to sing the song for months cause I didn't know it and thought it was much
too personal. Nowhere close to the original, but still my favorite and like warts it grew on Don as well. Please forgive my self indulgence on this one.
I miss the 'ell out of you Don. You could never be replaced. Thank you all for listening. It has been
a very hard week for me for various reasons. Forgive me for my absence. I will try to comment on whomever I've missed.
