This song was written by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell for "Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends", a hugely popular animated television series based on Rev. W. Awdry's "The Railway Series" books originally written for his son Christopher, who would later write many more volumes for the series.
I recorded my rendition on the 21st May 2020 and was planning on uploading it in early July to tie in with Christopher Awdry's 80th birthday. However, the news came on the 30th May of the death of Michael Angelis, longtime narrator of the UK version of the show. Although I am of the generation that appreciated the earlier series' that featured Ringo Starr, I share my recording of this song at this time to honour Michael's tremendous contribution to the franchise, since he was to more than one generation the definitive voice of Thomas. |
