There are two distinct songs under this title, although some similarities, the first is a blues song copyrighted by Harry Akst (music) and Grant Clarke (lyrics) in 1929 sung by many such as Ronstadt, Billie Holiday, Streisand, Cher and Ethal Watters. This, on the other hand, is pure country by GS. It was written by David Chamberlain, and recorded by George Strait. It was released in August 1987 as the third and final single from his album Ocean Front Property. It became his 12th number 1 single in the U.S. It does have quite a long outro compared to other GS songs, but great sound, nonetheless. Hope you enjoy my version..... |
