KARAOKE SCENE MAGAZINE ONLINE! - ChetBassetti performs Pussy Willows Cattails on Karaoke Showcase - I always loved this song and decided to give it a whirl. Then I discovered "hey I already did this song a few years ago".It turns out back then I did a VR version(which wasn't too good). Then I discovered another version of the song on my hard drive.I listened to it and wow, it had no vocals at all and the music was there. I then realized that after I did my VR version years ago.I contacted Joyce to do a custom track. She did, perfectly, and I tucked it away and totally forgot about it. Until today. Like most of KR songs, it is very mellow, but unlike many of his songs,(he had a voice like a musical instrument) this one was not strenuous. I did some bg info on this song and discovered two things I did not know: 1- The song was written by Gordon Lightfoot 2- Kenny died of cancer in 2009 at age 69 Surprized by #1 (although he covered many artists along with his own originals)..and deeply saddened by #2. He was a truly gifted artist. Many thanks to Joyce for providing this great backing track

JoriAnselm Beautiful words and music come together perfectly to make for some fine poetic imagery. You did an excellent job on the vocals.
Reply: Jori..I agree..the music and imagery just leap out on this song..thank you so much for stopping by and the nice comment..Chet

mav2100 I can honestly say I have never heard this song before so to these ears, it's all yours and Joyce's, of course. Wow Joyce did a stupendous job on this track. The strings are beautiful and the guitar which is so hard to emulate is wonderful. KUDOS!! Awwwwwww your vocals are so beautiful Chet. They Just flow. Those are some Sweet high notes near the end. This song definitely rings of Gordon Lightfoot. Excellent Collaboration. Everything is ABSOLUTAMENTE PERFECTO! Gonna grab this one to keep. Love it! Applause, Applause!! Keep em coming! Mwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Pam
Reply: Before I found the "already done track" I contacted Joyce to do it..I figure the violins might be too time consuming..so I just asked for a simple acoustic backing...then I found the track and was all too happy that she did the violins...thanks so much Pam..really appreciate your support, comments..and..your fine music as well!...Chet

OoRIKoO Great song. What a wild time for music. So many songs were written using words in the lyrics that would never be used again. Both in music and everyday conversation...LOL Great sing Chet and some fine music Joyce. You are the bomb boom girl. ...Rik... .
Reply: Thanks very much Rik...and I'll pass this along to the "bomb-boom-girl" as well :) Chet

Cantstopsinging Hey Chet.. thank you for your faith in me to play this for you. Your vocals have a classic essence to them reminiscent of singers of this genre of the 60's and 70's. I am so glad you rediscovered it and it was a new one for me too. It is sad that he died of Cancer as did Dan Fogelberg and Andrew Gold.. For some reason all these singers reminded me of each other. You have a blessed voice. Joyce
Reply: Joyce..your comments always make me think cuz you do some serious thinking before commenting..to me or everyone else too..and that is greatly appreciated!..I am not familiar with Andrew Gold (I'll go check him out)..thanks again..Chet
