I thought your timing was all over the place. This song has a nice little sway to it and I suggest you sway as you sing it to correct the timing errors. The vocal effects processing and EQ did not match that of the background music, not much you could do about that if this was an on stage recording otherwise.... I didn't get the feeling that you were trying to cheer up a friend (the theme of the song) but simply reciting words. I hope this was helpful.
Reply: Having played this song on the radio since 1964, I'm pretty certain that the timing is about the same as the original. The musical crescendo's are suppose to rise and fall around the words (check the original). I'm certain that I hit a few off-keys here and there, but just doing this song for "old time sakes" was my main motivation. IT'S JUST A SONG - NOT BRAIN SURGERY... Everybody does karaoke differently - "whatever floats your boat"... right everyone? |
